About John Perrotta
You may know him as Everybody’s Brother or as the Italian Don Rickles, but if you’ve seen John Perrotta perform, you’ve laughed until you cried.
John Perrotta first took the comedy stage in 1983 at Providence’s original comedy club-Periwinkles, then located in the Providence Arcade. John killed it in his debut performance, but he couldn’t win over his next two audiences. After his second bombing, he walked away from stand up for 8 years.
In 1991 John went to see Johnathan Katz perform at the Comedy Connection, E.Providence. It was that evening, he decided to give comedy one last chance. John took comedian Frank O’Donnell’s stand-up comedy class and his graduation was (once again), a performance at Periwinkles. John did exceptionally well and set his goal to become a professional comedian.
Although he experienced the usual ups and downs of a comedy career, John stuck with it. In 1991, Perrotta finished 2nd in the Funniest Comic in R.I. Comedy Competition. In 1992, he finished in the top ten out of 60 New England comedians in Jay Leno’s Tonight Show Comedy Challenge.
John, (known for his quick wit, rapid-fire one-liners and his ability to improv off any audience), has since become one of New England’s most-popular stand up comedians,
John has performed with such comedy legends as Bill Burr, Tom Cotter, Dane Cook, Gilbert Gotfired, Colin Quinn.
John Perrotta has owned Cranston’s Comedy Factory for over 25 years. He books comedy shows at restaurants, and night clubs for all types of functions, including bachelor parties, house parties, birthday and retirement parties. Thinking about having a fundraiser? John’s ready to raise money for your group or cause.
John Perrotta has headlined at many top comedy clubs such as the Comedy Connection, Rhodehouse Live, Catch A Rising Star, Joker’s Wild and Nick’s Comedy Stop. John Perrotta was voted Providence’s Best Comedian in the 2008 Providence Phoenix Reader’s Poll . John was inducted into the R.I. Comedy Hall of Fame in 2012 for his outstanding contributions to stand up comedy in New England.
Perrotta prides himself on the help he has provided to new stand up comedians. John has dedicated a big part of his career to providing stage time to new comedy performers.
In 1993 John Perrotta booked one of the countries hottest comedians, Bill Burr to host a comedy show for $25. John and Bill remain friends today. John hung out with Bill when he headlined the Wilbur Theater in Boston in 2014.
John Perrotta absolutely loves performing stand-up comedy and will always put in 150% each time he performs.
